Junior Staff Accountant

General Job Summary: The Junior Accountant supports the Controller and accounting department in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close processes, performing financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or current student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field who is looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional accounting environment. This role reports directly to the Controller and offers valuable exposure to accounting operations, financial reporting, and manufacturing cost accounting. Key Responsibilities Review Accounts Payable transactions for accuracy Review Accounts Receivable activity and monitor customer account balances Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Prepare recurring financial, sales, inventory, and operational reports Analyze financial data and investigate variances, trends, and unusual transactions Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Support inventory and standard cost accounting processes Assist with year-end review and audit preparation Compile and organize financial data for management reporting and decision-making Support the Controller with day-to-day tasks. Requirements Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field, or currently pursuing a degree Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn.
