Dietary Director for Assisted Living Facility

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced leader to oversee dining operations within an assisted living environment. This role is responsible for ensuring residents receive nutritious, appealing, and well-balanced meals while maintaining high standards of food safety, service, and hospitality. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, organizational skills, and a resident-centered approach to dining services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily dining operations, including meal planning, food preparation, service, and sanitation standards.
• Collaborate with nursing, wellness, and care teams to address special diets and individualized nutrition needs.
• Supervise, train, and support dining services team members to promote quality service and operational consistency.
• Monitor inventory, ordering, storage, and cost controls to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
• Maintain compliance with applicable health, safety, and food handling regulations.
• Conduct regular quality checks to ensure food presentation, taste, portioning, and service standards are met.
• Respond to resident feedback and work to enhance satisfaction with dining experiences.
• Schedule staff appropriately to meet operational needs and ensure reliable service coverage.
• Support inspections, audits, and documentation related to food service operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service management, hospitality leadership, or a related role, preferably in senior living, healthcare, or a similar environment.
• Knowledge of nutrition principles, special diets, and food safety best practices.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
• Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and maintain accurate records.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced, resident-focused setting.
• Proficiency with standard kitchen, dining, and administrative systems or software is a plus.

Work Environment
