Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled CVICU Registered Nurse with specialized experience in cardiac care, post-surgical monitoring, and hemodynamic support. This role involves providing critical care to cardiac patients in a fast-paced ICU environment, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through expert nursing interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and monitor advanced cardiac therapies, including Impella support, pulmonary artery lines, and Swan-Ganz catheters.
• Assess and interpret EKG strips, hemodynamic data, and clinical parameters to guide patient care strategies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement postoperative and intervention care plans.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of patient status, treatments, and responses in Epic electronic health record system.
• Respond promptly to patient deterioration, adjusting treatment based on clinical assessments and protocol.
• Float within units as directed, providing consistent, high-quality nursing support across cardiac care services.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license (state or compact) with no disciplinary actions.
• Minimum of 1 year of dedicated CVICU experience, including post-cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterization.
• Proficiency in A-line management, ventilator support, sheaths, dialysis, ABG analysis, and medication drips.
• Strong understanding of telemetry, hemodynamic monitoring, and critical care procedures.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification required, with demonstrated ability to read and interpret strips.
• EPIC charting experience mandatory.
