Assistant Project Manager (Commercial Construction | Owner's Representative) Southern California (Hybrid/Mostly Remote) $85,000 - $115,000 + Benefits Ready to take the next step from Project Engineer into Project Management We're partnering with a growing Owner's Representative and Construction Management consulting firm seeking an Assistant Project Manager to help manage commercial restaurant and retail development projects throughout the U.S. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a commercial construction background who wants greater project ownership, client exposure, and long-term career growth. Unlike a traditional General Contractor, you'll oversee projects from the owner's perspective, working alongside architects, engineers, contractors, and clients from site selection through project completion. What You'll Do: Manage multiple commercial construction projects through all phases of development Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and general contractors Maintain project schedules, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation Review construction drawings and coordinate design changes Assist with budgeting, change orders, and project reporting Conduct periodic jobsite visits for milestone inspections and project updates Utilize Procore and other project management software to keep projects organized Build strong relationships with clients while ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget What We're Looking For: 3-5 years of commercial construction experience Current Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or similar experience Strong understanding of commercial construction processes Experience managing RFIs, submittals, schedules, and document control Procore experience preferred Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong communication and organizational skills Comfortable working both in the office and periodically in the field Preferred Experience: Commercial tenant improvement projects Restaurant, hospitality, or retail construction MEP coordination Estimating or change order experience Owner's Representative or Construction Management consulting experience Why You'll Love This Opportunity: Mostly remote work environment with limited travel (approximately 1-2 trips per month) Opportunity to work on projects from concept through completion Exposure to development, design, permitting, and construction, not just field operations Collaborative, entrepreneurial culture where your ideas matter Direct mentorship from experienced Project Management leadership Clear path for career advancement into a Senior Project Manager role Competitive benefits including healthcare, 401(k) with company match, and unlimited PTO #J-18808-Ljbffr Talent Edge Recruiting
