Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate client's mental health and substance use needs, accurately identifying co-occurring disorders.
• Develop personalized treatment plans in partnership with clients, integrating evidence-based interventions that address both mental health and substance use challenges.
• Provide individual and group therapy sessions focusing on the development of coping strategies, relapse prevention, and emotional regulation techniques.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive care and enhance treatment outcomes.
• Implement regular substance use monitoring and employ motivational interviewing techniques that empower clients on their recovery journey.
• Educate clients and their families about the interrelation of mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing the importance of adherence to treatment plans.
• Maintain precise documentation of treatment progress, interventions, and referrals following ethical and legal standards.
• Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and training sessions to continually enhance your skills in treating co-occurring disorders.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse range of adults who are grappling with the challenges of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Our clients encompass various backgrounds and experiences, requiring a tailored approach in treatment that respects their unique situations. In this role, you will help clients break the cycle of addiction and mental health challenges, supporting them as they pursue sustained recovery and improved quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.
• Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based therapies specifically for co-occurring disorders, including Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
• Strong understanding of the intricate relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills.
• The ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team, navigating complex client needs with sensitivity and expertise.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of direct experience in a mental health counseling role, focusing on clients with co-occurring disorders.
• Experience working in a telehealth environment or using telehealth platforms to deliver therapy and assessments.
• Familiarity with integrated care models and practices within the context of mental health and substance use treatment.

Compensation and Benefits
