Location: Cleveland, OH

Shift Details

Day Shift: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)

Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Rotating shifts may be required based on operational needs.

Mandatory holiday coverage: travelers must work at least every other holiday.

Job Description

The Stepdown RN will provide critical nursing care in a hospital setting. Responsibilities may include floating to units J1-2, J33, and the Emergency Department to manage patients with similar care needs.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in the specialty.
• A valid Ohio nursing license or a compact state license is required at the time of submission.
• Current certifications in AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are mandatory.
• Travelers should be available to work rotating shifts as determined by operational needs.

Qualifications

• Previous charge experience is preferred.
• Experience with a charting system is required.
• Experience in an LTAC or trauma units is considered an asset.
• Must provide a reference from a manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty within the past 12 months.

Additional Details

During orientation, candidates will complete an ECG rhythm recognition test and a safeMedicate assessment. An acceptable score is required on both tests before clearance for work.

Compliance and Health Requirements

• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations are required, with exemptions only for medical or religious reasons.
• A negative 10-panel drug screen, including nicotine, is required.
• Must be nicotine-free, unless exempt as a nurse or surgical technologist.
• Background checks will be conducted, with a focus on ensuring candidates have no open cases or license disciplinary actions.

Orientation and Training

Travelers will participate in a training program that includes up to 4 hours of billable modules. Additional time for pre-start modules may be required but will not be billable.

Contract and Extensions

Travel candidates may extend their contract for a period of 18 months, after which a 6-month break is generally required. Extensions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
