About the Role

Our client is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Project Controller - Manage r to oversee project accounting and financial controls across current and future construction and development projects.

This role will play a key part in ensuring financial accuracy, budget discipline, and clear reporting throughout the full project lifecycle. The Project Controller - Manager will partner closely with Development, Construction, and Finance teams to track budgets, monitor costs, identify risks, and ensure project financials are accurate, timely, and decision-ready.

This is an ideal opportunity for a project accounting professional with strong construction or real estate development experience, a deep understanding of job costing and project controls, and hands-on experience with Procore.

Key Responsibili ties

• Own project-level accounting and financial management for active and future construction and development projects.
• Track budgets, commitments, forecasts, actuals, change orders, draw schedules, and job cost reporting
• Partner closely with Development and Construction teams to provide financial visibility throughout the project lifecycle
• Prepare variance analysis, financial reporting, and project updates for leadership
• Identify project risks, cost trends, and budget concerns early, providing clear recommendations when needed
• Support Procore setup, implementation, optimization, and day-to-day usage
• Ensure proper documentation, cost controls, and internal controls are maintained across projects
• Support audits and ensure compliance with accounting policies, contractual requirements, and best practices
• Improve project accounting processes to support continued growth and scalability

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in project accounting, project controls, construction accounting, or real estate development finance
• Hands-on experience with Procore Construction Software required
• Experience implementing or optimizing Procore strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of the construction lifecycle, including budgeting, cost tracking, change management, draw schedules, and project close-out
• Experience partnering with Development, Construction, and Finance teams in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Experience with large construction or development firms strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
