Laboratory Technician

Job Title: Electrical Engineer II – Laboratory Testing (Entry to Mid-Level) Duration: 18 Months Employment Type: Contract (W2) Pay Rate: $30–45/hour About the Role We are seeking an Electrical Engineer II with 2–5 years of experience to support laboratory testing and validation of advanced electrical metering equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with experience in hardware testing, power systems, or laboratory environments who are looking to build hands‑on experience with electrical devices and testing methodologies. The ideal candidate will work alongside laboratory technicians and cross‑functional engineering teams to develop test plans, execute evaluations, analyze results, and support product quality initiatives. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute test plans for electrical metering devices and related equipment. Perform laboratory evaluations in collaboration with laboratory technicians. Conduct functional, performance, and validation testing of electrical hardware. Support installation and testing of single‑phase and polyphase electrical equipment. Document test procedures, results, and engineering findings. Troubleshoot electrical and hardware issues identified during testing. Ensure adherence to laboratory safety practices and engineering standards. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and product teams to resolve technical issues. Assist with continuous improvement of testing processes and documentation. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. 2–5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering. Experience working in a laboratory or engineering testing environment. Hands‑on experience with laboratory equipment and electrical test instruments. Background in hardware testing, electrical product testing, or power systems. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience testing electrical or electronic devices. Knowledge of power systems or electrical distribution equipment. Exposure to metering devices or utility equipment. Familiarity with developing engineering test plans and validation procedures. Experience working with cross‑functional engineering teams. Note Prior experience with AMI systems, CPUC regulations, or ANSI standards is not required. Candidates with strong electrical engineering fundamentals and laboratory testing experience are encouraged to apply.
