Work Environment

This onsite position requires you to work directly in a school facility, offering a unique opportunity to cater to both children and their families. Your working hours will predominantly range from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with occasional evening responsibilities extending until 8:00 p.m., providing you with flexibility. Participation in community outreach events and health fairs on weekends may also be necessary, giving you the chance to interact with a broader audience and make a significant community impact. On average, your workweek will encompass around 40 hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough health assessments and screenings for patients of all ages in the community.
• Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic medical conditions while emphasizing preventive care strategies.
• Collaborate with local community organizations and stakeholders to develop and implement impactful health education programs.
• Ensure the delivery of culturally competent care, advocating for patients' rights and equitable access to healthcare services.
• Coordinate patient referrals and facilitate follow-up care to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Maintain detailed and accurate medical records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Engage in community outreach efforts, including health screenings, to raise awareness of available health resources.
• Stay updated on community health trends, relevant policies, and evidence-based practices to ensure top-notch service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on serving families and individuals in Austin, collaborating closely with schools and local organizations to address their specific health needs. Qualifications

• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner with a valid state nursing license.
• A Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, with a preference for those who have a background in community health or public health settings.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective engagement with a variety of patients.
• Commitment to principles of social justice, health equity, and advocacy for vulnerable community members.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within school-based health settings or community health environments.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for efficient patient management and documentation.
• Demonstrated ability in developing educational materials or community health programs tailored for diverse populations.

Compensation and Benefits

• This role offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $125,000 annually, reflecting experience and qualifications.
