Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Patient ratios of 1:5 First-timers accepted Description: The Registered Nurse will work in a Progressive Care Unit. This position requires strong skills in cardiac telemetry and acute care. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring patients and interpreting dysrhythmias. Management of dysrhythmias is essential. The nurse will utilize rapid response teams effectively. Post-operative care for cardiac procedures is included. Experience with IV insulin protocols and feeding tube management is required. The nurse will administer blood products and manage central and peripheral lines. Starting IVs and managing PCA and vasoactive drips without titration are necessary responsibilities. The role involves administering oxygen therapy and managing tracheostomy care. Isolation precautions and wound care are also part of the position. Regular floating between departments and units may occur as needed. Weekend shifts and holiday shifts may be required as per the schedule. Successful candidates will be part of a dynamic and supportive team environment aimed at delivering high-quality patient care.
