Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager, Commercial Construction About the Opportunity Framework has partnered with a growing, veteran‑owned commercial general contractor in the Orlando market that is expanding its pipeline across both private commercial and federal/government work. Our client has a strong project backlog, a tenured leadership team, and a culture that rewards initiative, follow‑through, and people who actually move the needle. This is a hands‑on, market‑facing seat that owns new business growth end‑to‑end. You will identify and pursue new opportunities, qualify and shape proposals alongside operations and project management, and nurture the client relationships that turn first projects into repeat business. The role suits someone who genuinely enjoys the hunt — networking, prospecting, presenting — and who can also stay disciplined about pipeline, follow‑through, and account management once the work is won. What You’ll Own Lead Generation & Prospecting Identify, research, and qualify potential clients across target markets. Build and execute prospecting plans — cold calling, networking, industry events, and online platforms. Maintain a robust, accurately‑tracked pipeline of qualified opportunities. Client Relationships & Presentations Develop and nurture strong relationships with key decision‑makers at prospective clients. Deliver effective presentations and capability briefings that position the company to win. Listen for client needs and tailor solutions accordingly. Assist with and review proposals and bids in response to RFPs and RFQs. Partner with project management and operations to ensure proposals reflect accurate scope and pricing. Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market opportunities. Conduct competitive analysis to identify new business avenues and shape go‑to‑market strategy. Account Management & Retention Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to drive ongoing satisfaction and repeat business. Identify and pursue cross‑sell and upsell opportunities within existing accounts. Representing the Company Actively participate in industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance company visibility. Represent the firm professionally and positively across the market. What We’re Looking For 3 to 5+ years of proven success in business development, sales, or a related field within the construction industry. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Demonstrated track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships. Excellent negotiation, closing, and presentation skills. Strong organizational and time management discipline. Ability to operate independently and as part of a tight team. Systems & Technical Skills Proficiency in Procore. Comfort working across the typical BD/CRM, proposal, and Microsoft Office stack. Preferred Experience working with government contracts. Working understanding of SDVOSB programs and regulations. Passion for supporting veteran‑owned businesses.
