Registered Nurse Neuro Telemetry

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides skilled nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and specialized medical attention. The RN is responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. This role requires strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage a 1:4 patient ratio in a fast-paced acute care environment. The position includes weekend shifts and may float between units as needed. Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patient condition closely.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, and care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and clinical data.
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and dress code requirements.
• Support unit operations by floating between designated units as required.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in hospital or acute care settings.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
• Ability to manage a 1:4 patient ratio effectively.
• Driver's license, car insurance, and reliable automobile if field work is required.

• Experience in Neuro Telemetry or Progressive Care Unit preferred.
• Familiarity with short-term acute care and Level II Trauma Center environments.
• Prior experience in floating between multiple nursing units.

• Weekend shifts required: approximately 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Dress code for licensed nursing personnel includes solid navy blue uniforms or scrub attire; print tops are not permitted except in specified units.
• Patient ratios are typically 1 nurse to 4 patients.
• Floating between units may be required.
• 48-hour shifts are not approved.

• Work schedule includes weekend shifts as outlined, with no block scheduling required.
• Shift assignments may vary based on unit needs and floating requirements.
