Most electrical contractors run great jobs in the field and a disaster in the office. We're trying to fix that — and we need the right person to make it happen. Plesh Electric has been serving homeowners and businesses across Central New Jersey for 30 years. Generator installations, service upgrades, panel replacements, new construction electrical — we do it right, we do it clean, and we've built a reputation that brings customers back. Tony Plesh oversees every job personally because quality isn't negotiable. We're growing. By the end of 2026, we're targeting $5M in revenue with multiple crews running simultaneously. We already have the work. What we need is someone who can assist in running the office — and grow into something bigger as the company does. We're not hiring a receptionist. We're recruiting the person who becomes the operational backbone of a New Jersey electrical contractor on its way to becoming the best in the state. WHAT THIS JOB ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE Here's the honest version. The phone rings when you're in the middle of scheduling three jobs, following up on a generator estimate, and trying to figure out why an invoice didn't go through. You handle all of it — because that's the job. Nobody is going to hand you a prioritized to-do list every morning. You figure out what's most urgent and you work the list. Some days are completely normal. Other days, a permit gets kicked back, a crew needs to reschedule a job on two hours' notice, and a customer calls because their estimate was supposed to arrive yesterday. You don't panic. You fix it, you communicate, and you move on. This is a small company. That means you'll do things that are "above your pay grade" some days and things that feel below it others. You'll work directly with the owner — Tony is hands-on, has high standards, and will notice everything, good and bad. There's no layer between you and the person whose name is on every truck. If you need a defined lane, a quiet desk, and someone to hand you tasks — this isn't the right fit. When we send an estimate to a customer, it should be right. When we file a permit application, it should be complete. Sloppy documentation is as much a reflection of the company as sloppy wiring. You set the same standard for your paperwork that our electricians set for their installations. Professionalism is how you answer the phone at 8:00 am and how you respond to a frustrated customer who's been waiting three days. Professional and warm — not robotic, not rude, not flustered. Accountability here means if you said you'd follow up by the end of the day, you followed up by the end of the day. You don't wait to be chased. You don't let things fall off the list. Your word is your track record. Clean work, no shortcuts, means the filing system is actually used, the records are actually current, and the invoices are actually accurate. Not "pretty close." Responsibilities: • Own customer communication — answer every call and email promptly, follow up on all leads, and ensure no inquiry goes unanswered • Coordinate field scheduling — book estimate visits, installations, and inspections so crews always know where they're going, and customers know when to expect us • Manage documentation — create, send, and record estimates, invoices, and permit applications accurately and on time • Maintain systems and records — keep job files, customer records, and internal documentation current and organized • Support daily operations — handle administrative tasks and operational needs before they become problems • Grow into the role — as Plesh Electric adds crews and revenue, take on expanded responsibilities in office management and operations coordination Qualifications: Required: • 2+ years of administrative or office coordinator experience • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Reliable transportation to Whitehouse Station, NJ • Authorized to work in the United States You do NOT need: • No electrical or construction background required — we'll teach you the industry • No permit processing experience required — we'll train you on our process • No degree required Compensation: $18 - $25 hourly
