Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments that take into account the medical conditions impacting patients' mental wellness.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that address both psychiatric conditions and relevant medical issues.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based techniques to foster patient engagement and growth.
• Work alongside medical providers to ensure treatment plans are cohesive and effectively managed across disciplines.
• Provide crisis intervention strategies during mental health emergencies, ensuring timely and appropriate care.
• Educate patients about the interplay between mental and physical health, empowering them to take charge of their wellness.
• Maintain detailed, accurate, and confidential documentation following legal standards and ethical guidelines.
• Engage in regular team meetings and case discussions to promote an interdisciplinary approach to patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our center caters to a diverse spectrum of individuals, including those facing co-occurring medical conditions such as autoimmune disorders, chronic pain issues, and substance use disorders. We aim to serve patients who require not only mental health support but also ongoing assistance in managing their medical conditions. By working closely with patients on their mental and emotional well-being, you will impact their ability to cope with and manage their complex health needs effectively.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMHC, LCSW, LCSW-R, Licensed Psychoanalyst, Psychologist, or LMFT within New York State.
• Strong background in addressing mental health needs for individuals with medical comorbidities.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport with patients and colleagues alike.
• Demonstrated ability to uphold professional boundaries and adhere to ethical practices, ensuring patient privacy.
• Familiarity with digital health record systems and telehealth technology.
• Proven ability to effectively collaborate within an interdisciplinary team setting.

Preferred Experience

• Experience delivering therapy in outpatient settings, preferably with an emphasis on integrated mental health care.
• Previous involvement in case management or interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Skills in using evidence-based therapeutic interventions and approaches.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is USD 80,000 – 100,000.
