2nd Shift Custodian

Bettendorf Community School District is seeking a dedicated, dependable, and detail-oriented 2nd Shift Custodian to join our Operations team. This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and community.

Schedule: 8 hours per day, 2nd Shift

Hourly Rate: $23.16/hour

Start Date: September 2026

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical
• Pool certification required when assigned to a building with a pool
• Previous custodial experience in a school setting preferred
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide verification of employment eligibility as required by federal law
• Knowledge, Skills & Responsibilities:
• Knowledge of custodial supplies, cleaning methods, and techniques
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and attractive school environment
• Follow all applicable health and safety regulations
• Perform and document routine inspections and maintenance activities
• Work independently with limited direct supervision
• Communicate effectively and professionally with staff, students, and visitors
• Demonstrate strong organization and multitasking skills
• Maintain a friendly, courteous, patient, and adaptable demeanor
• Demonstrate flexibility to meet the daily needs of the assigned school building
