Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Embark on an impactful contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher with a focus on autism, covering a maternity leave. Located near Lincoln Park, MI, this full-time position places you in middle and high school settings, with assignments beginning September 8th and extending through October 26, 2026 (exact schedules to be confirmed). As part of a dedicated school community, you’ll collaborate with professionals committed to positive outcomes for students with a range of abilities and behaviors.
Desired Background:
- Valid Special Education Teaching license with ASD endorsement; only fully credentialed candidates will be considered
- Proven experience working with students in autism-specific programs, comfortable managing mild to severe and occasionally aggressive behaviors
- Familiarity with middle and high school environments and adolescence developmental needs
- Strong communication skills for effectively partnering with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
- Adaptable, compassionate, and able to respond skillfully to evolving caseloads and student requirements
