Web UX/UI Developer and Designer

Salary: $70,000 - 120,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a closely related discipline, though equivalent education and experience will be considered.
• We expect at least 3 years of practical experience in UX/UI design and web development.
• We prefer experience in a federal government or government contracting environment.
• We need proficiency in interface design for content management systems, web applications, and low-code/no-code platforms.
• We require hands-on experience with CSS and popular frameworks such as Bootstrap and Tailwind.
• We need working knowledge of Drupal, SharePoint, and Microsoft Power Platform.
• We expect the ability to evaluate existing sites for usability issues and improvement opportunities.
• We require skill in interviewing stakeholders to capture and document user needs.
• We need experience creating wireframes for new websites and applications.
• We require the ability to build branding guides, reusable templates, and components aligned to organizational standards.
• We need knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG accessibility compliance requirements.
• We require strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• We require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Personal Identity Verification card and obtain a Public Trust.
• We require completion of ITIL V4 Foundation certification within 90 days of the start date.
• We expect proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• We consider experience with federal branding standards, custom web application development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, training site owners and citizen developers, ServiceNow, Agile delivery, and the USDA mission highly desirable.

• We provide user interface and user experience design support across multiple web platforms, including Drupal, SharePoint, Power Platform, and custom web applications.
• We analyze existing web content and usability to identify enhancements.
• We gather stakeholder input and translate it into clear design requirements.
• We create design concepts, plans, and wireframes for new or improved sites and applications.
• We develop user interfaces that align with USDA and MRP branding standards.
• We produce reusable templates, components, and design assets to support consistent implementation.
• We assess accessibility compliance against Section 508 and WCAG standards.
• We train and guide developers, site owners, and citizen developers on design and implementation practices.
• We support a fully remote, full-time schedule during standard weekday business hours.
