Facilities Assistant

The Village of Lincolnwood, Illinois is a diverse home-rule municipality directly north of the City of Chicago, consisting of 2.7 square miles, with a unique blend of residential, commercial, and manufacturing areas. The Village is seeking a skilled and motivated individual with a background in building maintenance to serve as the Facilities Assistant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position serves under the direction of the Buildings Foreman. The primary duties of the position include: daily bank deposit deliveries, internal mail delivery, delivery of resident notifications, general errands for the Public Works Department, and proactively assisting with general facility and building maintenance. This position will be a key part of the building maintenance team, assisting in maintenance and projects across all municipally owned buildings.

Required Skills/Education/Experience:

The requirements for the position include: possession of a Class D Driver's License; high school diploma or GED; and sufficient knowledge to perform the duties listed in the essential duties and responsibilities section of the Job Description. Previous experience in a Public Works Department or local government is preferred.

Hours and Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is $19.49 to $24.97. This position is classified as a part-time, non-exempt, non-union position. All applicants must be able to work a minimum of 25 hours each week, but no more than 29 hours per week. Normal working hours for this position are 9:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m., some flexibility may be available. The normal operating hours for the Department is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
