Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews to assess clients' needs, documenting findings throughout the treatment process.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on the unique mental, emotional, and behavioral health goals of each client.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices to promote recovery and skill development.
\n
• Regularly monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists and primary care providers.

• Manage client referrals to other services and follow up on any necessary coordination of care, ensuring a holistic approach to each client’s recovery.

• Provide guidance and education to family members and primary caregivers to help them support their loved ones effectively during recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, counselors will work with a diverse range of clients, including individuals, couples, families, and groups facing various mental health challenges. This may include anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship issues. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure in California as either an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective client interaction and documentation.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor in both individual and group settings.

• Proficiency in electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, for efficient management of client documentation.

• Experience with treating co-occurring disorders, addiction issues, and a solid understanding of the effects of psychotropic medications.

• Knowledge of best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
