Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations through initial screenings and ongoing assessments, documenting each client’s progress from the first consultation through successful treatment completion.

• Collaborate with clients to design tailored treatment and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups that address their unique situations and goals.
\n
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques, fostering an open environment for discussion and growth.

• Monitor client progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary, and proactively addressing barriers to recovery.
\n
• Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, psychiatrists, and primary care providers, to create a cohesive intervention strategy for clients.

• Engage actively in follow-up communications with other healthcare professionals regarding clients, enhancing care continuity.

• Identify and mitigate behaviors that may hinder recovery, empowering clients to overcome obstacles through applied therapeutic principles.

• Assist and educate family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing their loved ones' mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a diverse clientele, including individuals with various mental health conditions, emotional distress, and behavioral challenges. Your role will emphasize therapeutic approaches that respect the unique cultural backgrounds and lived experiences of each client, ensuring they receive comprehensive and tailored care.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LPCC, LCSW) in the state of California.
\n
• Successful completion of relevant national exams, including the NCE and/or the NCMHCE.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience as a mental health counselor within an outpatient setting.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), specifically AVATAR, to efficiently manage client documentation.

• Experience working with dual diagnosis clients who may also face addiction issues or physical health conditions.
\n
• Knowledge of best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Understanding of medication management and the impact of pharmaceuticals prescribed by medical providers.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This role offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
