Job Description & Requirements Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $ 2327.80 Opportunity: RN - NICU Job Details: • Work in a Level III or IV NICU caring for neonatal patients as young as 23-24 weeks gestation • Patient ratio is 2:1 across days, nights, and weekends • Block scheduling available - can work 3 or more shifts in a row if preferred • Intermittent weekend coverage required; managers work directly with travelers to accommodate schedule requests • May float to Issaquah or Edmonds SCN, or to Pediatrics/Newborn Nursery (assigned newborns and infants only) • May occasionally be assigned as a sitter across units; no patient care required during sitter shifts • Travelers are generally not responsible for admitting babies, as a dedicated nurse fills that role • Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required; Level III NICU experience for at least 3 years or 2 years at Level IV NICU • Required certifications: BLS, NRP • Epic charting system experience preferred • Required skills and procedures include: - CPAP/BiPAP, High Frequency Ventilators, Oscillators, and Conventional Vents - Blood and blood products administration - Cardioversion and defibrillation - Cooling and warming blanket (therapeutic hypothermia) - Feeding tubes and enteral feedings (bottle, breast, gavage) - PICC/Central line care and management - Syringe pumps - Neonatal dosage calculations • Attends high-risk deliveries and neonatal surgeries • No ECMO experience required • Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission • 2 professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required prior to start • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day • Must be open to floating between campuses; refusal to float may result in termination and forfeiture of guaranteed hours Facility: This facility is part of a large, well-established health system operating multiple campuses across the region. The NICU is a 77-bed unit with an average daily census of 50 patients, supported by an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, interpretation services, rapid response teams, and unit secretaries. The unit provides high-acuity neonatal care for critically ill newborns and premature infants, offering a collaborative and resource-rich environment for experienced NICU nurses.
