NextGen Hospitality Solutions is seeking a Kitchen Manager / Sous Chef for our upscale steakhouse located in East Hampton. This full-time, on-site position provides a remarkable opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise in a high-energy, fine dining environment focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
As the Kitchen Manager / Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. You will lead a talented team of culinary professionals and collaborate closely with front-of-house staff to create a seamless dining experience. This position also offers a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $85,000 annually, along with opportunities for professional growth and development within our dynamic hospitality group.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality and presentation meet our high standards
- Manage inventory and ordering of kitchen supplies and ingredients
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering career development and enhancing team dynamics
- Create and update menu items, focusing on seasonal and local ingredients
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure a smooth dining experience for guests
- Monitor kitchen performance and implement improvements as needed
- Assist in cost control and budget management for the kitchen
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or Sous Chef in an upscale restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen equipment
- Ability to manage a team effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
- Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or related field is preferred
