What We’re Looking For:
- Background in education for students with visual impairments
- Credentialed Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or similar certification required
- Experience supporting and advocating for learners with visual needs
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with staff and families
- Creative, resourceful, and student-centered mindset
- Ability to adapt lesson plans and materials for accessibility
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction for a visually impaired student
- Modify classroom materials and collaborate with general education teachers to ensure access
- Implement strategies and technology to facilitate learning and independence
- Monitor and document progress, adjusting interventions based on student needs
- Communicate regularly with families and educational team members
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise on visual impairment
