Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments and screenings to evaluate clients’ substance use history, mental health status, and individual needs.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that specifically address both addiction and any underlying mental health issues.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions employing evidence-based approaches tailored to the unique circumstances of each client.

• Collaborate regularly with team members including psychiatrists, social workers, and other therapists to ensure a holistic approach to client care.

• Provide educational support to clients’ families to enhance their involvement in the recovery process, ensuring a well-rounded support system.

• Maintain accurate and compliant client records, ensuring adherence to all regulatory and ethical standards related to mental health practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be clients who are struggling with substance use disorders, often accompanied by co-occurring mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, or trauma-related disorders. You will advocate for and empower them on their journey to recovery, helping establish healthier coping mechanisms and lifestyles.

Qualifications\n

• A valid license as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field.

• Demonstrated knowledge of substance abuse treatment modalities and addiction counseling.

• Strong foundational understanding of evidence-based practices supporting recovery from addiction and mental health issues.

• Exceptional therapeutic and counseling skills with a proven ability to motivate and inspire clients toward positive change.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working in a telehealth setting, coupled with familiarity with digital counseling resources.

• Previous experience in substance abuse treatment or mental health environments.

• Additional certifications or training related to addiction therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Compensation and Benefits\n

This role offers an attractive annual salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
