Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

The Opportunity

Gilbride, Tusa, Last & Spellane LLC is seeking an exceptional Trust & Estate Paralegal to join our dedicated Trusts & Estates group in Greenwich, Connecticut. In this role, you will work closely with our attorneys to manage complex estate and trust administration while drafting, organizing, and executing critical legal documents.

This is a dynamic, fast-paced position ideal for a highly organized professional who thrives under pressure, excels at problem-solving, and is ready to make a significant impact within a collaborative legal team.

Key Responsibilities

As a core member of our T&E group, you will balance multiple simultaneous projects under the supervision of our attorneys. Your primary duties will include:

• Estate & Trust Administration: Navigating the administration process, meticulously tracking trust information, including asset inventories, current trustees, grantor trust status, and GST-exempt status.
• Probate Filings: Preparing petitions and all related court papers necessary to probate clients' wills.
• Tax Preparation Support: Compiling essential exhibits for Form 706 (United States Estate and Generation-Skipping Transfer Tax Return) and Form 709 (United States Gift Tax Return).
• Document Drafting: Creating first drafts of diverse T&E instruments, including but not limited to: powers of attorney, health care proxies, living wills, unanimous written consents, trustee appointment/resignation/removal instruments, Crummey notices, promissory notes, GRAT agreements and ancillary documents, and debt forgiveness letters.
• Quality Assurance: Generating execution-ready versions of documents by rigorously proofreading for spelling, formatting, pagination, accurate section numbering, and cross-references.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience: 2–5 years of relevant paralegal experience preferred. Direct experience supporting Trust & Estates attorneys is highly desired.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of computer tax software and Bloomberg software.

  • Proven ability to problem-solve, meet strict deadlines, and coordinate several activities at once.
  • The flexibility and mental agility to seamlessly manage multiple estates simultaneously.
• Commitment: Willingness and ability to make a two-year commitment to the firm.

Compensation & Benefits

We believe in rewarding top talent with highly competitive compensation and comprehensive care. The estimated base salary range is $70,000 to $95,000 per year , plus discretionary bonus opportunities. (Actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and market factors).
