Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews and document clients’ mental health status from the first consultation through the entirety of their treatment.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health using standardized diagnostic tools and assessments.
\n
• Develop customized intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, tailoring approaches based on each client's specific needs.
\n
• Facilitate effective individual therapy sessions and group interventions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to ensure optimal engagement and healing.
\n
• Monitor and track client progress throughout all stages of their treatment, adjusting plans as necessary to reflect changing needs and goals.
\n
• Collaborate closely with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

• Provide follow-up support for clients transitioning out of inpatient services by coordinating with psychiatrists and other healthcare staff.

• Identify and address behaviors that may impede recovery and assist clients in overcoming challenges.

• Support family members and primary caregivers by providing resources and strategies to help them manage their loved ones' mental health challenges effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Prevent Anxiety Counseling Center, you will primarily work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health disorders. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds and often face unique challenges that require sensitivity and a tailored approach. You will engage in culturally competent practices to support clients in a manner that respects their values and experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Must hold current and valid licensure as an LMHC in the state of California.

• A passing score on the NCE, NCMHCE, or similar credentialing examinations.
\n
• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor or related role.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR.
\n
• Strong understanding of various mental health conditions, including addiction disorders and co-occurring physical issues.

• Familiarity with best practices as endorsed by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with exceptional interpersonal abilities.
\n
• An empathetic and compassionate nature that fosters a trusting relationship with clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with diverse populations, including those from underserved communities.

• Prior experience with telehealth modalities and remote counseling best practices.

• Knowledge of psychopharmacology and the impact of medications prescribed by other healthcare professionals.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The Prevent Anxiety Counseling Center offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000, based on experience and qualifications, along with a sign-on bonus for qualifying candidates.
