Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit, managing patients with diagnoses including osteoarthritis and fractures
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; manage cardiac drips (no titration) and administer blood products
• Perform phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement as mandatory competencies
• Manage IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, PCA, feeding tubes, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), and wound care including wound vac
• Oversee respiratory support including external CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), and tracheostomy management
• Float within scope to like units as needed to meet facility staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN license required at time of submission (no pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical / Telemetry RN experience
• Epic EMR experience is a hard requirement
• BLS certification required
• Proficiency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV insertion
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with orthopedic trauma and total joint replacement patient populations
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management in a high-acuity MS/Tele environment
• Experience with every-other-weekend scheduling requirements
