Location BSW All Saints Medical Center, FT Worth, TX Department Laboratory Shift Evening Monday 12pm - 8:30pm, Tuesday – Friday 6:30pm - 3am Preferred Experience At least 4 years of experience as a phlebotomist with at least 1 year of previous supervisory experience in a hospital laboratory setting. Certification required: PBT ASCP, NPA, ASPT, NCCT, NHA, AMT, NAHP, AMCA, AAH or ACA. Job Summary The Supervisor of Pre‑Analytical directs the collection and processing of quality specimens safely, aids in delivering exceptional patient care, guides and facilitates Phlebotomists and other clinical staff, coaches for positive behavior and performance, and is responsible for scheduling and coordinating staff to meet patient needs. Essential Functions of the Role Guides and mentors Phlebotomists and other staff by communicating technical and general information professionally and constructively, and has HR responsibilities for the team. Ensures high customer satisfaction through professional and ethical conduct. Evaluates staff behaviors and performance to achieve department goals, focusing on continuous improvement through proficiency assessment and other tools. Follows all established specimen collection, labeling, transportation, and handling procedures, performing all delegated functions as defined by facility CLIA Director. Builds a cohesive team through collaboration and innovation. Coordinates and schedules staff to meet patient and departmental needs. Monitors quality and safety reports. Ability to comprehend and communicate complex instructions in an easy‑to‑understand manner. Ability to perform laboratory protocols and procedures. Knowledge of safety and infection control standards. Ability to work in a team environment and perform service recovery. Ability to make tactical judgments on allocating and directing supervised employees' work using established guidelines, policies, or procedures. Ability to make effective hiring and termination recommendations. Ability to train, and evaluate performance of supervised staff. General computer skills including Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Experience: At least 2 years of experience. Certification/Licensure/Registration: Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) certification from ASCP, NPA, ASPT, NCCT, NHA, AMT, NAHP, AMCA, AAH or ACA.
