Position Overview

Join our award-winning State Farm agency as a Business Development Representative and build a career in sales, relationship management, and insurance.

We're looking for a motivated, competitive, and personable professional who enjoys connecting with people and is driven by results. In this role, you'll focus on generating new business, building relationships with prospective customers, and identifying additional opportunities with our existing customer base. Whether you already have sales experience or are looking to build a long-term career, we provide hands-on training, mentorship, and opportunities to grow within our agency.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business through proactive outreach, lead follow-up, referrals, and relationship building
• Build relationships with prospective customers and guide them through the insurance buying process
• Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate insurance products and coverage options using a needs-based sales approach
• Identify opportunities to expand relationships with existing customers through additional insurance products and coverage solutions
• Develop referral relationships and network with local professionals and community partners to create new business opportunities
• Bring a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and competitive mindset to the office each day

What We're Looking For

• Motivated by goals, results, and performance-based compensation
• Comfortable making outbound calls and starting conversations with prospective customers
• Previous sales experience is preferred but not required; backgrounds in inside sales, outside sales, retail sales, customer acquisition, telemarketing, or other goal-oriented roles are a plus
• Strong follow-up and relationship-building skills
• Organized and able to manage multiple opportunities at different stages of the sales process
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently as well as within a small team
• Coachable and interested in continued professional development
• Must currently have or be willing to obtain Property & Casualty and Life & Health insurance licenses

• We help customers with their insurance and financial services needs, including Auto Insurance, Home Insurance, Life Insurance, Business Insurance, Health Insurance, and Renters Insurance.
• Our office is located in Hopkins, MN.
• Our office is open 9:00am to 5:00pm.
• I have been a State Farm agent since 2001.
• I am a proud graduate of Mankato State University.
• We currently have 4 team members at our agency.
