Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for ED patients across age groups as assigned
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care using the nursing process in collaboration with the medical team
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, and respond to emergencies following protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals to coordinate care and discharge planning
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and post-discharge needs; document care accurately
- Delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff according to competence and scope of practice
- Maintain situational awareness of patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality; ensure accurate EPIC documentation

Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: RN licensure active in California; Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required at time of hire
- Emergency Department specifics: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required at time of hire; TNCC within 1 year; IV Sedation competency within 6 months
- Dysrhythmia competency demonstrated during orientation; ongoing proficiency per department standards
- Experience: Minimum of two years of recent acute care/ER experience
- Education: BSN preferred
- Additional: EPIC electronic health record experience preferred; ability to work in a fast-paced ED environment
