Assistant Controller

One of the world's premier private clubs, located in Manhattan is seeking a regular full-time Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller will assist the Controller and Management staff with assistance with all financial-related tasks. Responsibilities include: assisting the Controller with financial statements, auditing weekly payroll, daily summary of bank transactions and monthly bank account reconciliations, overseeing, monitoring, and working to improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and database management, audits workflow to ensure that all accounting transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with industry standards, assisting in preparing budgets, preparing journal entries, reviewing invoices and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, assisting the Controller with special projects as necessary, managing monthly closing processes, handling special projects as requested by the Controller, direct financial statement and defined benefit plans audits, and preparing Federal and State tax filings. Education/Skills/Experience: possesses exceptional organizational skills and is an effective time manager and multi-tasker, attention to detail and problem-solving, possesses strong leadership, supervisory and management abilities, exhibits strong computer skills and knowledge of relevant technology, displays vast knowledge of math and exceptional accounting skills, demonstrates good interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
