For more than 50 years, Café Fiorello has been one of New York City's most iconic Italian restaurants, celebrated for its authentic cuisine, exceptional hospitality, and vibrant dining experience across from Lincoln Center. As part of the Fireman Hospitality Group, Café Fiorello proudly expanded its legacy to Washington, D.C., where we continue to deliver the same commitment to culinary excellence and outstanding guest experiences.
We are seeking an accomplished Executive Chef to lead our culinary team and uphold the standards that have made Café Fiorello a respected name in hospitality for more than five decades.
What You'll Do
- Lead all daily kitchen operations with a focus on quality, consistency, and execution.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop a high-performing culinary team.
- Maintain food and labor costs while achieving financial and operational goals.
- Oversee scheduling, purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and Department of Health regulations.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on menu development, seasonal features, and operational initiatives.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and culinary excellence.

- Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume, upscale restaurant.
- Strong background in authentic Italian cuisine.
- Proven success leading and developing culinary teams.
- Experience managing food cost, labor cost, purchasing, and inventory.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Culinary degree and ServSafe Certification preferred.
