OPPORTUNITY | Associate Attorney Our Dallas/Fort Worth office seeks a well-rounded, highly-motivated, experienced Associate Attorney with two to five years of insurance defense or similar litigation experience. Must be licensed to practice in Texas. Additional court admissions would be a plus. This is an exceptional opportunity to handle a variety of litigation matters in state and federal courts with a forward-thinking firm. SKILLS and ABILITIES proactively work independently and as part of a team; demonstrate strong legal research and analytical skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail with superb organization and prioritization skills; ability to move from case to case; knowledge of both state and federal court procedures; proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and navigating the internet.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include handling a substantial caseload involving primarily defense litigation. The following are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to do this job successfully under the direction of a partner: draft, prepare and handle pleadings, motions, orders and legal memoranda; draft and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions; conduct legal research competently and with proficiency; prepare and take depositions of parties and witnesses; review client documents and draft case evaluations; participate in mediations and court appearances; and, interact directly with clients, claim professionals, and opposing counsel.
