Preservation Architect

Preservation Architect Position located in the United States. The Preservation Architect is responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures while maintaining their integrity and significance. Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed assessments of historical structures to determine preservation needs. Develop preservation plans and strategies for projects. Collaborate with clients, contractors and preservation agencies to obtain necessary approvals and permits. Conduct research on materials, techniques and the historical significance of structures. Create detailed drawings and specifications for restoration projects. Oversee construction work to ensure adherence to preservation standards. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address any issues that may arise. Maintain accurate project documentation and records. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field. Strong knowledge of architectural principles, history and materials used in historical structures. Previous experience on preservation or restoration projects is preferred but not required. Familiarity with relevant preservation regulations and guidelines. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders. Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to travel occasionally for site visits. The intern will gain hands‑on experience in the field of preservation architecture. Key Responsibilities Assist with conducting assessments of historical structures.
