# Job Opportunity – ICU Registered Nurse – Texas Start Date: November 16, 2026
Location: Lubbock, Texas

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with block scheduling available based on staffing needs. Minimum of 6 weekend shifts per contract period. Floating to other ICU units may be required. 48-hour work weeks approved. Highlights: - Primarily Neurosurgical ICU specializing in stroke, intracranial hemorrhage, craniotomy, and other neurological cases- Patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3 with access to robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy- 379-bed short-term acute care Level II Trauma Center equipped with modern technology including external ventricular drains, ventilators, pupilometers, and Ceribell systems- Epic charting system with 12 hours of orientation provided- 16-bed unit with daily census of approximately 13 patients serving adult and geriatric populations- Block scheduling options available and approved based on unit needs; first-time travelers welcome Requirements: - Active Compact nursing license (must be in hand at time of submission)- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience; at least 1 year of recent experience required- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS- Epic EMR experience required- Neuro ICU experience strongly preferred; Level II Trauma experience preferred- Proficiency in critical care skills including ventilator management, EVD care, titrating vasoactive and cardiac drips, arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, stroke management, post-craniotomy care, and spinal cord injury management- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work in a specialized neurosurgical ICU environment where you'll care for complex neurological patients using advanced monitoring technology and evidence-based protocols.
