Step into a rewarding school-based role supporting students ages 3-21 as a full-time Occupational Therapist in the southwest Houston area. This contract opportunity runs from August 11, 2026, through May 26, 2027, offering a dynamic blend of consultation and direct intervention across 6-7 schools conveniently assigned within a specific zone based on your ZIP code. As part of a dedicated special education team, you'll utilize school health and therapy management software for streamlined documentation and provide crucial services designed to enable student success in learning environments.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Occupational Therapist license for Texas (active and in good standing)
• Thorough knowledge of school-based OT practices, including experience with evaluations and ARDs
• State fingerprint/background check required (potential for utilizing existing prints)
• Experience working with pediatric and school-aged populations strongly preferred; highly qualified, experienced COTAs considered
• Must not be a former employee of the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District and have not been terminated by any school district (employment history will be verified)
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and documentation skills

Core Responsibilities:

• Manage a full-time schedule (37.5 hours/week), Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm (with occasional earlier start)
• Serve a varied caseload, generally up to 70 students, with approximately 30-40 receiving direct services on a rotating schedule
• Conduct assessments, participate actively in ARDs, and collaborate with education teams on students’ IEPs
• Provide treatment interventions; maintain detailed documentation using SHARES, Onward, and Excel logs
• Travel between assigned schools within your zone, utilizing the district office as your base
