Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into an engaging contract role as a Special Education Teacher specializing in a self-contained elementary classroom for 4th and 5th-grade students. This opportunity places you in a supportive environment, surrounded by fellow special education professionals in a building dedicated to self-contained programming. The classroom is structured for a small group setting with 7-8 students, allowing for targeted instruction and strong relationships.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid LBSI (Learning Behavior Specialist I) or equivalent Special Education certification
• Experience working in self-contained classrooms at the elementary level
• Familiarity with Unique Learning System or STAR curriculum preferred
• Strong collaborative skills to thrive in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and track progress
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities:

• Lead a classroom of 4th and 5th grade students with diverse learning needs
• Create and implement lesson plans aligned with IEPs and specialized curricula
• Collaborate closely with other special education staff, paraprofessionals, and related service providers within the self-contained program
• Communicate regularly with families to share student progress and strategies for success
• Document student growth, behavior, and progress toward IEP goals
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development, including an optional new teacher orientation held August 5-11 (if onboarding is completed on time)
• Maintain a welcoming, supportive atmosphere that encourages student achievement

This contract position spans the entire 2026-2027 school year, with 35 hours per week plus a daily 30-minute lunch. The workday runs from 8:05 AM to 3:35 PM, with extended hours until 3:50 PM on Wednesdays.
