Exa is building a search engine for the AI era. Our Search API currently powers Agents, Fortune 500s and AI labs as we transform an industry that hasn't been disrupted since the 90s. We're a largely SF-based team of ~100 from Harvard, MIT, Meta, Google Research, ex-founders & dropouts alike.
We recently raised an $85M Series B from Benchmark, and we are rapidly building the most intelligent search engine in history. We're high agency, low-ego, and united by the feeling that this is one of the last problems worth getting right.
Now, we're looking for a Founding Account Executive to help us bring Exa to new verticals & to the world (aka New York City)!
About the Role
As an Account Executive at Exa, you will work with customers who need speed, intelligence, and accuracy in their workflows. You'll take full ownership of dealsprospecting, running demos, negotiating, and closing.
What You'll Do
- Help build our NYC GTM office from 0->1 (culture cultivation, in-person events, in-person sales)
- Own the entire sales cyclefrom first touch to close
- Run product demos that make customers say "wow"
- Develop and execute strategies to land high-value customers
- Work closely with SDRs to keep the pipeline strong and moving
- Negotiate contracts, hit targets, and drive revenue growth
What You'll Need
- 2+ years in a sales role, ideally in SaaS or AI/tech products
- Experience managing a full sales cycle, from lead generation to close
- Strong communication skillsyou can tell a great story and sell a vision
- A consultative approachhelp customers see the business value, not just the features
- A competitive edgeyou're driven, persistent, and love closing deals
- Comfort in a fast-moving, high-growth startup environment
This is an in-person opportunity in NYC, with several sponsored trips to SF head quarters to onboard. We are open to sponsoring International candidates (e.g STEM OPT, OPT, H1B, O1, E3).
