Business Development Manager – Commercial Construction

A leading construction management firm is looking to add an experienced Business Development professional to its Raleigh-area team. This is an opportunity to join an established contractor with a strong presence across the Carolinas, working across sectors including Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12, Senior Living, Commercial, Civic/Government and Community projects.

About the Role

The Business Development Manager will lead and coordinate project pursuits, collaborate with internal teams to develop compelling proposals and presentations, research market sectors and clients, and build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting community and client engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate project pursuits, including RFQs, RFPs and interview presentations.
• Work closely with Marketing, Operations and Superintendent teams to develop compelling proposals and presentations.
• Develop professional interest letters and proposal content tailored to prospective clients.
• Research market sectors, industry trends, upcoming projects and key clients.
• Identify and develop new client relationships and future project opportunities.
• Maintain and strengthen existing client relationships alongside Operations leadership.
• Monitor client satisfaction and upcoming construction plans.
• Manage multiple project pursuits simultaneously and track progress through CRM/Salesforce.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the company's preconstruction services, including Design-Assist, Target Value Delivery and Prefabrication.
• Attend industry conferences, association events and client meetings to develop relationships and identify opportunities.
• Support community and client engagement initiatives.
• Track historical pursuit results and use market intelligence to help shape future business development strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience within commercial construction, subcontracting, architecture or a related industry.
• Previous experience with proposals, presentations and client-facing business development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and industry partners.
• Ability to manage multiple pursuits and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of the commercial construction market.
• Must be based in the Raleigh/Durham/Triangle area. xhyhwjd
• Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory, including Raleigh/Durham, Winston-Salem, Greensboro and Eastern North Carolina.
