Assistant Project Manager

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be part of a team dedicated to directing the day‑to‑day operations of the project. You will create a project plan that outlines the tasks, timelines, and resources required to achieve the project’s goals. The Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager with communication among project stakeholders, manage risk, and monitor progress against the schedule. Responsibilities Assist with planning, scheduling, supervising, and coordinating all aspects of a wide range of construction projects to ensure that deadlines and budgets are met. Assist with negotiation and management of contracts with vendors and subcontractors. Assist the Project Manager with determining needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to schedule and budget details. Organize, file and maintain project documents. Ensure the company’s health and safety culture, policies and requirements are met. Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with customers and co‑workers. Qualifications 3–5Years of construction management experience. Understanding of construction procedures, materials and project management principles. Outstanding communication, negotiation, organizational and time‑management skills. Proficient with computers and corresponding programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Team player with leadership abilities. High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands‑on role requiring frequent walking, climbing, and lifting. You may need to lift and carry materials up to 25pounds, and occasionally up to 50pounds. The role involves visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work and requires prolonged sitting during office tasks. Work Environment The position is primarily on active construction sites where weather, noise, and moving equipment vary. Time may be spent in an office setting with moderate noise levels. The role may require extended hours especially during critical project phases or client deadlines, with a need to respond to communications as needed.
