Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager will drive revenue-generating opportunities for the firm’s emerging companies and venture capital practice, with a primary focus on the Bay Area and weekly presence in both Palo Alto and San Francisco offices. The role involves building relationships with startup founders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, investors, universities, incubators, accelerators, and industry groups to generate referrals, expand client relationships, and strengthen the firm’s market presence. Key responsibilities include developing and executing business development strategies, conducting market and competitor research, identifying prospective clients, managing CRM relationships, organizing networking events, securing speaking opportunities for attorneys, and developing pitches, presentations, thought leadership, and marketing content. The Manager will also support practice group marketing initiatives, RFP responses, strategic planning, attorney visibility, and performance reporting. Key Requirements Strong understanding of the startup ecosystem, venture capital, fundraising trends, and technology sectors. Knowledge of transactional legal practices, including M&A, private equity, and capital markets. Established Bay Area startup ecosystem relationships and excellent networking skills. Experience in business development, venture capital, accelerator/incubator management, or startup-focused professional services. Strong written, verbal, presentation, research, and relationship-building skills. Experience with CRM or pipeline management tools, such as Salesforce, preferred. Bachelor’s degree required; 8+ years of relevant experience preferred, including at least 3 years in venture capital, accelerator/incubator program management, or business development at a startup or startup-focused professional services firm. #J-18808-Ljbffr
