Purchasing Assistant

Provides purchasing and mailroom support to Purchasing Manager. Shift Worked:

9AM-5PM

Weekly Hours: 37.5 FLSA Status: Non Exempt Pay range: $18.99

THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION

POSITION DUTIES:

Provides support in matters relating to operation of Purchasing Department as needed, i.e., accounts payable and delivery of merchandise information, and communication of information. Assists in preparing and maintaining purchase orders and data information into an automated system. Assists in placing purchase orders for required merchandise. Sends follow-up e-mail to requisitioners on outstanding purchase orders. Files new and closed purchase orders. Performs all duties of Mailroom Clerk in their absence. In the absence of the Purchasing Manager, reviews and approves purchase orders prior to being forwarded to vendors. Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum two years related experience. Knowledge of computerized inventory/purchasing systems. Computer literate in Excel and Word for Windows. Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Adheres to the agency's corporate compliance program, including the code of business conduct, the NYS and federal false claims acts, whistleblower protections and mandatory reporting. Completes corporate compliance training at least annually. Fully cooperates in all corporate compliance investigations and reviews.
