Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This engaging full-time contract position focuses on supporting two schools—one elementary and one middle school—in the northern Stafford community, just a convenient commute from the D.C. area. The district values both collaboration and flexibility, offering a primary on-site presence with the potential for a hybrid 4/1 schedule (four days on-site, one day remote).

Responsibilities in this position are varied and impactful: you’ll provide essential assessment and consultation services, support Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and contribute to Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). While your role may occasionally extend to assisting social workers with counseling, academic achievement testing is not required, as each building has its own educational diagnostician on hand.

Qualifications and desired experience:

• Current licensure from the Virginia Department of Education and active VA Psychologist Licensure
• School-based experience conducting assessments and consultations
• Knowledge of FBA/BIP and MTSS preferred
• Ability to navigate the needs of both elementary and middle school students
• Willingness to begin VA Dept. of Social Services check and complete a TB Test immediately for timely credentialing

Key responsibilities:

• Administer and interpret psychoeducational assessments
• Provide behavioral consultation and intervention support
• Collaborate with teachers, social workers, and support staff to promote student well-being
• Participate in IEP and problem-solving meetings
• Provide input on student support plans and behavioral strategies
