Job Title: Junior/Mid-Level IT Network Engineer Job Category: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: None Type of Travel: None * * * The Opportunity: We are seeking a dedicated Junior to Mid-Level Network Engineer to support critical national security network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will assist in the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of secure LAN/WAN environments. You will work alongside senior engineers to ensure high availability, security, and performance of classified networks, directly supporting mission-critical operations. Responsibilities: • Network Operations: Assist in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Brocade). • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance utilizing enterprise management tools (such as SolarWinds) and provide Tier II/III troubleshooting support to resolve connectivity and operational issues. • Security Compliance: Implement and maintain network security protocols, ensuring compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). • COMSEC Management: Assist with the handling, configuration, and maintenance of cryptographic devices (e.g., KG series) and secure communications equipment. • Documentation: Create and update detailed network topology diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and configuration records. • System Integration: Collaborate with systems administrators to ensure seamless integration across Windows, Linux, and VMware vSphere environments. Qualifications: Required: • Education: BS Engineering or related field • Clearance: Must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance. • Experience: Minimum 3 years of practical experience in network administration or engineering, preferably within a DoD or highly regulated environment. • Certifications: DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II compliance (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) is required prior to start. • Core Skills: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies. Desired: • Additional Clearances: Polygraph is highly desired. • Vendor Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA). • Systems Experience: Familiarity with Active Directory and basic server administration (Windows Server/RHEL). - What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity. Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
