Location: Metro Detroit, MI (Field-based, in person)

Target Sourcing Location: Wayne County first (DWIHN network), then Oakland, Macomb, and Washtenaw counties. Candidates must be local to Metro Detroit.

Type: Full-time, direct hire

Salary: $65,000 – $85,000 base + performance bonus (Estimated OTE: $95,000 – $120,000)

With ambitious plans to scale significantly across Michigan over the next two to three years, the company is expanding its dedicated leadership team. A primary growth driver is within the behavioral health system—supporting members of the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) and surrounding regional networks through services such as Community Living Supports (CLS) and respite care. With DWIHN alone serving over 125,000 members, this role sits directly at the center of the organization's expansion strategy.

The Role

We are seeking the organization's first dedicated Business Development Manager for Behavioral Health . In this role, you will own the key relationships that drive client referrals: building and maintaining trust with Clinically Responsible Service Provider (CRSP) agencies and their support coordinators, starting within the DWIHN network and expanding into behavioral health networks across adjacent counties.

This is a relationship-first field role. The ideal candidate already has an established network of support coordinators and CRSP teams in the Metro Detroit market who know and trust them. As the face of our client in the community, you will run lunch-and-learns, meet with key community partners, stay top-of-mind, and ensure every referral source experiences high-touch service.

We are looking for a proactive strategist—someone who will share market insights, spot untapped opportunities, and actively help shape how the agency expands.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, own, and grow referral relationships with CRSP agencies and support coordinators across the DWIHN network.

• Expand the agency's reach into behavioral health networks and CRSP agencies in additional Michigan counties (Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw).

• Generate a steady flow of qualified referrals for Community Living Supports (CLS), respite, and related home care services.

• Host lunch-and-learns, in-services, partner meetings, and networking events with key referral sources.

• Serve as the main point of contact for referral partners, resolving questions and operational escalations promptly.

• Collaborate closely with internal intake and operations teams to ensure smooth transition from referral to service delivery.

• Track pipeline metrics, referral volumes, and conversion rates while reporting findings and market feedback to executive leadership.

• Recommend new referral channels, community partnerships, and strategic initiatives to strengthen brand reputation.

What We're Looking For

• Established Network: Trusted, active relationships with CRSP agencies and support coordinators within Metro Detroit's behavioral health system (Essential Requirement).

• Industry Experience: Background in business development, community liaison, marketing, or account management within home care, behavioral health, community mental health (CMH), or a related Medicaid-funded service setting.

• Domain Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of Medicaid-funded behavioral health referral flows (e.g., DWIHN, CRSPs, CLS, and respite services).

• Track Record: Demonstrated success in increasing referral volume and achieving growth targets.

• Field Readiness: Self-motivated, comfortable working independently in the field, with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Nice to Have:

• Existing relationships with behavioral health networks outside Wayne County.

• Professional background in social work, case management, or support coordination.

• Familiarity with healthcare compliance surrounding Medicaid-funded home care services.

What Success Looks Like

• First 90 Days: Reconnect with your existing network, introduce our client to key CRSP agencies and support coordinators, and begin generating a steady stream of referrals.

• First Year: Establish our client as a primary go-to provider for support coordinators across DWIHN, while maintaining a consistent referral pipeline and launching initial partnerships in at least one adjacent county.
