Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations in collaboration with law enforcement when necessary to assess the needs for involuntary detentions under the 5150/5585 criteria.

• Provide immediate short-term crisis counseling for non-violent patients experiencing acute mental health episodes, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
\n
• Maintain comprehensive and confidential records of each client’s treatment plans, progress notes, and communications, ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards.
\n
• Work with police staff to train them on best practices for addressing mental health crises among arrestees, focusing on de-escalation techniques and improving interaction outcomes.
\n
• Coordinate with third-party entities such as the Department of Mental Health and local psychiatric facilities to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care for clients.
\n
• Help identify transportation alternatives for clients needing to access mental health facilities and provide guidance on locating resources, including beds in homeless shelters.
\n
• Engage in community outreach efforts to raise awareness about mental health resources and support systems available within the area.
\n
• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss cases, share updates on client progress, and propose enhancements to procedures to improve client-facing services.

Qualifications\n

• A valid and active Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) credential.

Compensation and Benefits\n
