BioMechanics Orthopedics Services Inc. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist to join our team in Portsmouth, Virginia. As part of our team, you will be joining a collaborative work environment consisting of two physical therapists and one physical therapist assistant, all committed to delivering results-driven therapy.

Work Environment

Our rehabilitation facility in Portsmouth, Virginia, offers a dynamic and supportive onsite work environment. You will work a standard Monday to Friday schedule from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing a balanced approach to your personal and professional life. This role involves face-to-face interaction with patients and collaboration with healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions through comprehensive evaluations and recognize their specific goals and needs to create tailored treatment plans.
• Maintain a manageable patient load of one individual per hour to ensure high-quality, individualized care.
• Utilize diverse treatment techniques to develop and implement care plans that integrate evidence-based practice.
• Deliver cost-effective treatments aimed at enhancing patients' motion and mobility, while minimizing reliance on medications.
• Encourage patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, providing motivation and support to optimize their functional outcomes.
• Promote wellness and healthy living by enhancing patient strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
• Continuously evaluate treatment effects, track progress, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Document patient care services effectively within electronic medical record (EMR) systems, specifically utilizing tools like WebPT.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive support for patients.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about the latest advancements in physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient base primarily includes individuals with private medical insurance seeking outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation. We cater to a diverse array of conditions, including post-operative recovery, sports injuries, and degenerative disorders. As a Physical Therapist at our facility, your role will be pivotal in guiding patients through their recovery processes, ensuring they receive personalized, compassionate care that aligns with their unique needs and goals.

Qualifications

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution.
• Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia with no board or disciplinary actions against your license.
• Strong proficiency in manual therapy techniques and developing effective exercise regimens.
• Experience with EMR software, particularly WebPT, for efficient documentation and patient tracking.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage and motivate patients effectively.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting is highly preferred, giving you a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges these patients face.
• Hands-on experience with diverse patient populations, particularly in return-to-sport protocols and post-surgical rehabilitation.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 90,000 – 110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
