What You'll Do

• Provide individualized and specialized instruction within a self-contained special education classroom.
• Develop, implement, and maintain educational programming aligned with student IEP goals.
• Modify curriculum and instructional methods to support a wide range of learning abilities and needs.
• Monitor academic, behavioral, functional, and life-skills progress and maintain accurate documentation.
• Foster a structured, positive, and student-centered learning environment.
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to encourage student engagement and independence.
• Collaborate closely with administrators, therapists, support staff, and fellow educators.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and progress reporting.
• Maintain consistent communication with families regarding student achievements and growth.

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina Special Education teaching certification.
• Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Strong understanding of special education practices, compliance, and student support strategies.
• Ability to effectively manage a self-contained classroom environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with students with severe or multiple disabilities.
• Experience supporting students with functional, behavioral, and life-skills development.
• Knowledge of positive behavior support strategies and differentiated instruction.
• School-based special education experience.
