Site Coordinator, LEAPS at I.S. 349 (53478)

The Site Coordinator champions our school-based programming at I.S. 349, promoting the site as a community hub for engagement and activities. The Site Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Afterschool Program at I.S. 349 while creating a space where everyone feels they belong and prioritizes a commitment to youth development, promotes activities for academic achievement, and serves the community with programs for healthy living, culture, and the arts. The Site Coordinator supports the day-to-day operation and oversight of all activities at the I.S. 349 site and is one of the first points of contact for participants, community, and family members. The Site Coordinator will ensure a safe, engaging, and educational environment for participants, build relationships with families and the community, and contribute to developing age-appropriate activities for a team of staff to implement. This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills to meet the needs of participants and their families while maintaining contract compliance and meeting program objectives. Specific duties and responsibilities include: Program Implementation, Management, & Operations Oversee the daily operations of the entire site, ensuring activities align with program goals and objectives for after-school programming Serve as main point of contact with DOE Administrative personnel, ensuring a smooth partnership Coordinate and implement educational, recreational, and social activities in accordance with program guidelines Ensure a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for all participants Manage scheduling and allocation of program resources (e.g., space, materials, staff) Oversee the collection of program attendance and maintain accurate records for reporting purposes Complete and submit quarterly reports to the RiseBoro Board of Directors, providing updates on program status, challenges, and successes. Coordinate and collaborate with school staff, parents, and community partners to ensure the afterschool program aligns with school goals and community needs. Build productive relationships with the school’s administrative team, including the Principal, Assistant Principal, and Teachers Serve as a liaison with the Director of Community Schools personnel to create opportunities for collaboration, including the formation of a parent advisory and youth advisory board Attend Department of Education planning meetings, including School Leadership Team, PTA, Building Council, Attendance, and School Safety meetings Staff Supervision, Collaboration And Development Lead staff meetings, provide professional development, and ensure roles are fulfilled for after-school Provide direct supervision to staff, assist in hiring, training, and evaluation of program staff; orient new hires to their respective roles and responsibilities Support various teams across program staff, including specialists, group leaders, specialty instructors and volunteers Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with staff to provide coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations Facilitate staff development through training and professional development opportunities Foster a positive, collaborative team culture to encourage creativity and engagement Take full responsibility for managing the performance of team members and address performance issues in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. Provide guidance, leadership, and motivation to the team to ensure the effective delivery of high-quality program services. Communicate on a daily basis with all staff to ensure all deadlines are being met, all issues are being addressed, and follow-up is properly documented; convene regular staff meetings Prepare/review timesheets on weekly and bi-weekly submit them to the payroll department for processing Event Planning & Coordination, Participant And Family Engagement Foster positive relationships with participants and their families through strategically planned communications, scheduled meetings, and organized community events Lead efforts to engage families, maintain relationships with community partners, and act as a liaison between the program, school, and community partners to support site-wide programming Plan, coordinate, and implement parent meetings, special events and community activities, ensuring alignment with program goals, objectives, and compliance requirements Collaborate with program leadership to evaluate and adjust community engagement strategies to achieve program outcomes Ensure logistics, staffing, and safety protocols are in place for successful programming Serve as one of the primary points of contact for participants, parents, and caregivers Build and maintain consistent communication with families to promote participation, foster engagement, and address any concerns or issues raised by participants or parents in a timely and professional manner Partnership And Community Engagement Build and maintain collaborative community partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to promote program engagement Cultivate relationships with community partners, schools, and local organizations to enhance program offerings and resources Represent the program at community events and meetings to promote its mission and recruit participants Administrative Support, Compliance And Safety Ensure accurate data collection and compliance with program guidelines for after-school programming Develop reports for funders, partners, and assist in budget management ensuring accuracy and timeliness Aid in gathering documentation for consultant and subcontractor agreements as needed, ensuring that necessary approvals are obtained, and files are maintained Ensure compliance with all organizational policies, contractual obligations, and safety regulations (OCFS, Department of Education, Department of Youth and Community Development, Department of Health, etc.) Manage DOH site visits, ensuring all necessary documentation and program details are in order to maintain programmatic compliance Implement and monitor oversee all aspects of program protocols for participant safety, including emergency procedures, incident reporting, and behavior management Ensure that all safety protocols and guidelines are followed, including maintaining appropriate supervision during all activities and ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of all participants. Monitor and maintain facilities and equipment, ensuring that the site is safe, clean, and well-maintained Disclaimer: During the months of July and August, the Site Coordinator will transition into a position within the Education Division that is available Qualifications COMPETENCIES Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with school staff, participants, families, and community members Knowledge of after-school programming and positive youth development CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Experience managing afterschool programs or similar youth development programs preferred Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities Have a demonstrated commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias (e.g. people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice involved persons, etc.) Education And Experience Bachelor’s degree required and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in youth programs, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role #J-18808-Ljbffr RiseBoro Community Partnership
