Title: Educational Aide – Library Service Desk (Lawrence W. Tyree Library, Santa Fe College) Responsibilities Greet visitors and provide a professional, welcoming atmosphere at the Tyree Library service desks on the NW campus. Accept, screen, and route telephone calls concerning library activities and operations, directing inquiries appropriately. Resolve front‑line questions or concerns and make referrals when necessary. Assist library users with borrowing materials, study room reservations, computers, printing, Wi‑Fi, and general library questions. Shelve and help maintain library materials. Move throughout the building to identify and communicate safety or policy concerns. Operate and maintain office equipment such as copy machines, laminators, and document shredders for scanning and printing documents. Keep rooms clean by wiping down desks in the testing room, computer lab, breakroom, and sanitizing desks/chairs. Provide general administrative support for Library staff. Strictly honor the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information in accordance with state, federal, and college regulations (FERPA, etc.). Comply with all published College rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws governing public employees. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Currently enrolled Santa Fe College student in good academic standing, taking at least six (6) credit hours. Criminal background check will be conducted. Preferred: Availability to work mornings, nights, and/or weekends. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Work successfully in a multi‑cultural environment. Communication – professionally, diplomatically, empathetically, and tactfully communicate in the appropriate method. Customer Service – respond promptly and courteously to all questions from students and faculty, demonstrating patience and persistence when helping students with limited computer skills. Ethics – demonstrate integrity, professionalism, civility, and a high degree of ethics in all job‑related actions. Organization & Time Management – plan, schedule, and organize tasks to achieve goals within established timeframes. Problem Solving – identify issues, determine causes, develop creative solutions, and implement resolutions. Detail oriented – accurate and attentive to detail. Multi‑task – organize, coordinate, manage, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously, assessing situations quickly and applying appropriate responses.
